Fourth Grade Newsletter

 

Dear Parents,

  Julie Haggar will be joining us Mon. – Thurs. afternoons for the next few weeks for her junior field experience. I hope everyone has a great four-day weekend and a fantastic Easter. The Dakota Step went well. Thank you for sending your child prepared.

Monday: Dakota Step Testing. We read the story Jumanji in the afternoon and learned how to find the perimeter of an object.

Tuesday:   Dakota Step Testing. We learned how to find area today. We made a bird by following step-by-step instructions.

Wednesday:   Dakota Step Testing. We learned about solid figures. We made window cling butterflies. We read lesson 3 of Unit 5 in South Dakota Weekly.

Thursday: Dakota Step Testing. We finished our test and everyone was here all week, so no make-up tests. Way to go! We watched Jumanji as an end of the testing treat. School dismissed at 1:00.

 

Friday:  No School – Happy Easter.

 

Next Week:  April 18 – April 21

 

Monday: No School. Last vacation day of the year.

Tuesday:  Spelling Pretest. We will start reading Chocolate Fever. We will learn about pronouns today. We will make a game with a partner. The game will have to have very clear directions. We will play the games on Friday. We will learn how to find the volume today. We will learn the vocabulary for the next science Unit: Patterns on Earth and Space.

Wednesday: We will make string art butterflies. We will look at more root words. We will do a checkpoint in math.

Thursday: We will look at possessive pronouns. We will play BINGO with all of geometry words. We will finish our games.

Friday:  Spelling test. We will finish reading Chocolate Fever and take an AR test. Games are due. We will do the chapter review in social. We will make windsocks to measure the wind outside.
